Friday April 14, 2006 a frantic search was under way for a ten-year-old Oklahoma girl. Jamie Rose Bolin was reported missing after she failed to return home from a trip to the library.
Jamie’s little body was found in the tub of her downstairs neighbor, Kevin Ray Underwood.
An article in the Associated Press states that Chief David Tompkins said, “this appears to have been part of a plan to kidnap a person, rape them, torture them, kill them, cut off their head, drain the body of blood, rape the corpse, eat the corpse, then dispose of the organs and bones.”
Oklahoma investigators have now just revealed that Kevin Underwood blogged about his plans to murder and eat his 10-year-old neighbor, Jamie Rose Bolin.
Kidnapper/ killer Joseph Edward Duncan III kept a blog up to two days before kidnapping 8-year-old Shasta Groene and killing her family in Idaho. You can read more here.
Just the other day, I blogged about how marriage and family therapist intern, Stacy L. Harp of Orange, Calif was trying to convince Google to drop a website from its popular, free blog host that promotes “boy love,” sexual relationships between men and adolescents.
Now I read that killers are keeping blogs regarding their plans of murder. What’s the World coming too?
Stories like the murder of Jamie Rose, just break my heart. I was reading that Jamie said ” I’m sorry” when he first hit her.”
What makes a person do such an evil thing?
My thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family of Jamie Rose Bolin.

This is absolutely dispicable and hideous I can’t imagine any one doing this to someone and my heart breaks for little Jamie’s family and my thoughts and prayers go out to them too

What is this world coming to when one no longer knows whom to trust? When I heard the gruesome details of the murder it made me wonder what type of sick animal would do something like that and I realized he probably is an animal. I think society has to take a long hard look at itself and find any way it can to protect our children from the evils of this world.

Animals rarely behave that way. Only our closest relatives – primates – torture and kill for the hell of it, because they can. These aren’t animals, they’re demons. Their nature will never change, or ‘rehabilitate’, and if the death penalty is not an option, then life-long imprisonment, with no possibility of release, is the only solution.
There is an inmate in an underground cell in Leavenworth being held in what’s called ‘no contact’. That is literal. He has NO human contact of any kind. His meals are delivered in a dumb waiter, the lights are on 24 hours a day, and his small cell is under constant camera surveillence.
This sounds appropriate to me.
